6 Easy Ways to Update a Vintage Travel Trailer

6 Easy Ways to Update a Vintage Travel Trailer

Posted by Teresa VB on May 11, 2017

Vintages trailers are all the rage. After all, who wouldn't fall in love with an adorable, updated canned ham trailer? If you are considering updating your older RV, there are many things you can do to give it a fresh look.

Here are some of the simplest and most effective changes you can make to add that cozy look to your tiny home-on-wheels.

#1: Add Some Paint

Drab, off-white walls are boring. Add some color to your trailer by slapping some paint on the interior walls. Blues, greens, and yellows are all bright and cheery additions to any RV.

#2: Change the Window Treatments

If your RV is like most others out there, the window treatments are nothing to write home about. However, this can be changed quickly and easily by taking down the window cornices and shades and adding some cute curtains instead.

#3: Cover the Couch

An old, dingy couch can be a real eyesore in any older-model trailer. In order to get rid of the dingy look, cover your RV couch with a sheet. Stuff a pool noodle in the space between the back and seat cushions in order to keep the sheet in place.

#4: Get a New Bedspread

Because RVs are such small spaces, the bed is often a main focal point. For this reason, adding a lovely new bedspread or quilt to the bed can make a huge difference in how your tiny home looks and feels.

#5: Throw Down Some Rugs

If your trailer floors are looking grungy, torn up, or just plain ugly, you may want to replace them with something else. However, this is a big project that requires a lot of time and a bit of money. If you don't have those things at the moment, throwing down a few colorful rugs can help quite a bit.

#6: Add Some Wall Decals

With some new paint on the walls and a bit of color added in various places throughout the RV, it's time to consider wall decor. While hanging pictures on the walls can be difficult due to the risk of them falling, wall decals can fill the void quite nicely.

Decals are easy to put up and take down, and they won't fall and break during travel. Best of all, our current line of RV decals offers adorable options that are sure to brighten any travel trailer.

With these tips and tricks, we are certain you will have your old RV cleaned up and looking spiffy in no time at all!
