Are you familiar with Die-Cut Decals?
Our Decal Stickers are die-cut decals with NO background material. Your Decal Sticker is sandwiched between the top transfer tape layer and the wax-like backing paper. This allows the exact computer-generated decal design to be kept in perfect alignment when being removed from the backing paper.
Have you read thru the decal applications?
An instruction sheet should have come with your Wall Decals. You can find them HERE also.
When you are peeling the top tape layer off - which is your Final Step - it is best to peel the tape off at a SHARP angle. If your decal is pulling up and wanting to stick to the tape yet, you will want to be PRESSING down with your fingertips while you are peeling at a sharp angle, as shown in the images below.

Things to consider before applying your decal or situations that could cause difficulty applying:

- What decal are you trying to put up?
Wall decal designs with LOTS of letters will take more patience than a simple design, like our Be-You-tiful wall decal

- Are your walls textured?
This is a very common problem with wall decals. Textured walls DO make application more difficult! See our video here to see a little bit of the difference. Rough textured walls and lack of patience are not a good combination! Some walls are just too rough for wall decal application and others just take a huge amount of patience to apply. The texture shows above are bump and rough ... sometimes the decals will literally fall loose within a day. And most likely, you will not even be able to get the top tape layer off because there is no solid surface for the decal to adhere to. Stay away from pointed texture similar to what is shown to the left.
- What type of paint is on the wall? How long ago did you paint?
A smooth textured wall with semi-gloss paint is the easiest to work with. Eggshell flat paint is more porous, porous is not something you generally see. Having more pores means the wall decal has less of a solid, uniform surface to adhere to. Allow 2 weeks for your paint to fully cure before attempting to apply your wall decal sticker.
Tips for applying to Eggshell Flat Painted surfaces:
1. Let the decal sit for an hour and allow the decal to become adhered to the wall surface.
2. When using a squeegee, press down at the same time as you are pulling the tape over top of the squeegee. Also peel the tape off in small sections, not the whole piece at one time. (you can also use a credit card or other hard tool that can be held in your hand)

3. Heat the wall decal gently with a hair blow dryer to soften and activate the adhesive. BE CAREFUL with this tip.

What finish should you choose? The matte finish of a high quality wall decal makes it to appear as if it was painted on your walls. This elegant look can really enhance your wall and home decor! But, if you plan to use your decal sticker outdoors or on a rough surface, such as a rustic board we would recommend our glossy finish outdoor vinyl because it stands up to the elements and it has a stronger adhesive that allows it to stick to more difficult surfaces. We do not advise using glossy vinyl on interior walls because it may pull off paint or even damage your walls when you try to remove the lettering.
