How to Make Your Bathroom Appear Larger
People often find that their bathrooms are just too small, but they cannot figure out an effective way to arrange everything or place decorations to make the rooms look slightly larger than they really are. It is quite difficult to do some renovations in such small room, but there are actually some effective methods to create a sense of roomier space quite easily. You may want to try the following suggestions.
1. Change the color
Playing with colors is an easy way to dramatically change the appearance of a room. Pale colors of the same tone on wall and floor help to create a sense that the room is larger than it actually is. Strong and bright colors such as red or orange should be for towels and accessories. If you live in a rented apartment, you may need to ask permission from your landlord before making any big changes to decorations including colors.
2. Use mirrors
Mirrors are even more effective than colors and easier to apply as well. It is fine to hang several mirrors on a bathroom wall, or you can attach a door-length mirror to the back side of the bathroom door. If your bathroom has a first-aid-kit box or medicine chest, replace it with bathroom mirror cabinet.
A tidy and clean bathroom gives more space for you to move around in it without bumping into anything. Even some decorative items can clutter the room so you may need to remove some of them. You do not have to get rid of everything, but storing them tidily in a cabinet is a must. A tall thin cabinet only occupies a small area of the bathroom, but it can help you store many different items such as towels, toothbrushes, bottle containers, and more. Categorize every item and place them on a different shelf. Add decal stickers to each container to coordinate and create a uniform and tidy look.
